Winning gold in 5 events, the Hemingford boy’s track team was the winner of the Western Conference meet that was held in Morrill on Thursday. The Bobcats won the 2 mile relay and got gold medal efforts from Austin Benda in the mile and 2 mile, Boady Hunter in the 800,and Keirith Yale in the high jump. Hemingford tallied 138 points to win the event with Bridgeport second at 120 points. The Lady Cats ended in third with 110 points with Bridgeport first with 127 and Mitchell second with 119.
Seven teams took part in the day. Hemingford girls also had 5 gold medalists led by Dakota Horstman who won the mile and 2 mile and Aurora Hinman who won the 800 and 100 hurdles. The Cats also took first in the 2 mile relay.
