The Alliance Riptides had a strong start to their 2025 season at the Torrington Swim Meet on Saturday, June 7. Forty-one Riptide swimmers, ages 7 to 18, made the trek to Torrington to compete in the all day meet. Alliance had an amazing showing with their relays, winning 10 out of 10 relays throughout the day. The Riptides saw strong individual performances out of Noah Bauer, Grant, Quinn, and Charlotte Bloyd, Canton Devlin, Reese and Allie Armstrong, Aidan and Emma Machado, Declan Kirchner, Kian Richey, Kale Hulquist, Hayden Kozal, and Jack Sautter who took first in some or all their events. Newcomer Chase Machado as well as Emersyn Graviss, Tatum Devlin, Luna and Avalon Mundt, and Paxton Richey all made their way into the top 3 of their events. Notable achievements included 18 year old future Northern State University swimmer Emma Machado breaking records in 3 out of 4 of her individual events including her own 50 yard breaststroke record by over 2 seconds and breaking 16 year old records in both the 50 yard free and 100 yard IM. Allie Armstrong, age 10, also had a stellar day, breaking records in all 4 of her individual events including a 6 year old 200 yard free record by over 15 seconds, a 22 year old 50 free yard record by over 3 seconds, a 28 year old 100 yard free record by over 4 seconds, and a 32 year old 100 yard IM record by over 5 seconds. The Riptides are coached by Seth Hulquist, Brock Brass, Gracie Johnson, Kelly Huff, and Keith Hayner. They are back in action this Saturday, June 14th, here in Alliance at the Big Blue Bay.
