Scotts Bluff County Sheriff
On June 17th, 2025, at approximately 2:47 a.m., emergency crews responded to injury accident several miles east of Scottsbluff on Highland Road near the area of County Road 28.
The Scottsbluff Police Department also responded and provided significant investigative assistance.
Investigation revealed that a 2010 Nissan Altima owned and driven by Lexie Diamond Rzonca, age 22, of Scottsbluff, left the roadway and rolled several times. A 16-year-old male from Scottsbluff was the front seat passenger in the vehicle, was not wearing a seat belt, and was ejected. Regional West Ambulance personnel transported both Rzonca and the passenger to Regional West Medical Center. Rzonca was later released. The 16-year-old male is hospitalized in stable condition with very serious injuries.
Scottsbluff PD officers cited Lexie Diamond Rzonca for Driving Under the Influence and Reckless Driving.
Minatare/Melbeta Rural Fire Department and Scotts Bluff Rural Fire Department also responded to assist.
