Navy Club Evens Record with 11 to 0 Win over Bombers

Weather caused game 2 of a doubleheader between the Spartans of Alliance and the Bombers of Bridgeport to be just a one inning affair. The Peltz Co scored 11 runs in their one inning at bat and downed the guests 11 to 0. Alliance also got the W in the first game of the twin bill, besting the Bombers 4 to 1. The games were played Tuesday in Alliance. With the victory, the Peltz Co even their record at 15-15-1 for the year. The Navy squad has now won three in a row and 5 of their last 6 games. Teagan O’Gorman led the Spartan offense with 2 of their Alliance’s four hits. Starter Kyler Hamel pitched the one frame for the Spartans and allowed 0 runs.

Bridgeport got a hit in the top of the first but a double play turned by the hosts kept the Bombers off the board. In the bottom of the frame, the Spartan offense went to work, scoring 11 times. The Peltz Co did most of their damage with 2 outs. After a leadoff out, a hit by O’Gorman started the spree. It was followed by a walk by Tanner Salcido. Eban Lore was next and the Spartan designated hitter loaded the bases when he got hit by a Bomber pitch. Alliance’s first score then came when Dixon Bair was also struck by a pitch.

Up to 1 to 0, the Spartan’s next batter hit into a fielder’s choice for out #2. Alliance then plated 10 scores in a row. Hamel’s hit was misplayed , making it a 2 to 0 contest. Walks to Miguel Galvan Jackson Devlin, and Israel Garcia then gave the Navy club a 5 run advantage. O’Gorman was up again and his second hit of the inning made it a 6 to 0 game. Two errors by the visitors ensued as the Peltz Co went up 8 to 0.

Salcido continued the onslaught with an RBI double. Up next was Lore, who was hit by a Bridgeport hit. The scoring went to 10 to 0 when Bair recorded an RBI single. Another miscue by the Bombers would end the matchup. Final Alliance 11. Bridgeport 0
