Nine Run Third Inning Powers Buckley Past Navy Club

Opening action of the Conley tournament had the Alliance Navy team taking on Buckley. A nine run third inning paced the Bombers past the Spartans 13 to 0 in a four frame affair. The game was played Thursday in Alliance. With the loss, the Peltz Co now has a 15-16 and 1 record for the year. Alliance was held to just 2 hits. Pitching for the Navy squad were starter EJ Garcia and relievers Kyler Hamel and Jackson Devlin.

Innings 1 and 2 were scoreless frames. The Spartans stopped the Bombers in the top of the second with Garcia getting 2 strikeouts and catcher Tanner Salcido throwing out a Buckley runner attempting to steal second. The wheels would come off for the Peltz Co in the top of the third. Buckley tallied 9 runs to take a big lead. The Bombers had 5 hits, a couple of errors by the Spartans, a walk , and pair of passed balls to surge ahead 9 to 0. Alliance would get a hit by Creighton Fritzler in the home half but no runs. Heading to the fourth inning, the Peltz Co was down 9 to 0.

Buckley extended their advantage in the fourth with 4 more tallies. The guests used another 5 knocks to take a commanding 13 to 0 lead. A double by Lexton Salcido was the lone highlight for the Navy team in the bottom of the inning. Final Buckley 13 Alliance 0
