Win over Kimball Gives Prep Team Sixth Victory in a Row

Kimball played hosts to a doubleheader on Thursday in games against the Alliance Prep squad. The Spartans used a big first inning and downed the hosts 12 to 0. With the win, the Peltz Co now has won 6 games in a row and 9 of their last 10. Alliance has a record of 10-15 and 1 for the year. Ten tallies in the opening frame gave the Preps a big lead. Alliance finished the 4 inning game with 5 hits. Dixon Bair led the offense with 2 knocks. Pitching for the Spartans was starter Logan Freiberger who went 3 innings and struck out 4. Quinn Ferguson hurled the final frame, allowing 0 runs.

All Spartans from the start. The Peltz Co plated 10 scores in the top of the first. It started with a walk by Silas Lilley-Stone and a hit by Bair. A passed ball made it a 1 to 0 game. Free passes to Ferguson and Roy Torres ensued as the Preps loaded the bases. Back to back passed ball by the hosts put the Spartans ahead 4 to 0. An error by Kimball then gave the Peltz Co a 5 run lead. Alliance then got RBI hits by Freiberger and Bair to surge ahead 8 to 0. The inning came to an end with both runners stealing home. On defense, the Spartans turned a double play in the bottom of the first to maintain their 10 run margin. Both teams failed to score in the second. After 2 innings of play, Alliance led 10 to 0.

A double by Lilley-Stone gave Alliance a chance to increase their lead in the top of the third but he was stranded on the sacks. Two k’s by Freiberger in the home half of the frame kept the shutout in tack. The Peltz Co added 2 more scores in the top of inning 4. Bair walked then advanced after Ferguson was hit by a pitch.
