Thanks to a big night by Carver Nemnich the Alliance Seniors won the nightcap against Bridgeport on Tuesday. The Spartan first baseman went deep twice as the Peltz Co downed the Bombers 17 to 2. Alliance completed the sweep, winning game one earlier in the night 14 to 2. Nemnich ended the evening with 5 RBIs in helping the seniors improve to 22 and 9 for the season. The contests were in Bridgeport. For the game, Alliance concluded the game with 12 hits. Kegan Rodriguez led Alliance with 3 hits. Starting for the Peltz Co was starter Tanner Salcido and reliever Mikey Johnson.
A sac fly by Nemnich in the opening frame gave the Spartans a 1 to 0 advantage. Jaxson Esparza had a double in the first but was stranded. The Bombers hit a home run in the home half to tie the game at 1. Inning 2 was a good one for the Seniors as the Peltz Co tallied 2 more runs. RBI hits by Rodriguez and Espen Lanik gave the Spartans a 3 to 1 lead. On the bump, Salcido held the hosts scoreless in the bottom of the inning.
Seven tallies in the top of the third gave the Seniors some breathing room. The spree started with a walk to Esparza and Creighton Fritzler reaching after being hit by a pitch. Braeden Clarke was next and his single loaded the bases. A sacrifice fly by Jackson Smith brought home run 4. The Spartan margin then went to 6 to 1 after a 2 run double by Rodriguez. A wild pitch by the Bombers ensued to make it 7 to 1. Nemnich followed with 2 run shot helping Alliance go up 9 to 1. The frame ended with a double by Jaxon Poss who eventually scored after a Bridgeport passed ball. The hosts went down 1 2-3 in the home half. Heading to the fourth, the Peltz Co was out in front 10 to 1.
Fritzler would single in the top of inning 4 but not score. Using a couple of walks and a hit, the Bombers scored once in the bottom of the fourth. Another 7 run frame in the top of the fifth by the Spartans sealed the deal. The action began with another 2 run homer by Nemnich. RBI knocks by Johnson, Clarke, and Rodriguez followed as the Peltz Co surge ahead 16 to 2. An RBI groundout by Salcido finished the inning. The Bombers went down without a score in their last at bat.
