On March 8, 2026 the West Regional Special Olympics tournament was held at the Chadron Middle School gym with three (3) teams competing. The day began with the individual skills with 8 athletes competing in speed dribble, target pass, and spot shot. The following athletes competed and their placing.

After the individual skills the 3×3 teams faced off. The Scottsbluff white team vs the Chadron Eagle team with Chadron team winning in overtime. For the second game, the Scottsbluff white team played the Scottsbluff Green team. And for the last game the Scottsbluff team played the Chadron team with Scottsbluff team winning the game. The results for the 3×3 games were:
Chadron Eagles team 1st (Orlando Camargo-Luz, Bastian Barnes, Ben Fistler, Paul Kruger, Jesse Demicell)
Scottsbluff white team 1st
Scottsbluff green team 1st
To finish off the day, the Chadron skill athletes and the Alliance skill athletes demonstrated a game of team skills.
All of the athletes/teams competing, have qualified for the Nebraska Special Olympics Spring Games in April in Lincoln.
The Chadron team is now practicing swimming and track to get ready for our April 18 swim meet at the Aquatic Center in the morning and the track meet at the PAC at beginning at 1:00.
