Bair is a Silver Medalist at Best of the West Meet in Scottsbluff

Five track athletes from the Alliance Middle School traveled to Scottsbluff’s Bearcat Stadium on Tuesday and competed in the Best of the West meet. In order to participate in the event, the athletes had to qualify. No team scores were compiled. Top finisher for the Bulldogs was sprinter Dixon Bair who ended second in the 100 with an impressive time of 11.9-a personal best. Fellow teammate Grant Bloyd also had a busy day. Bloyd qualified in three events-100, 200, and the long jump. The AMS 8th grader placed 6th in the 100, seventh in the 200, and 8th in the long jump. In the discus, Atreus Walker ended 10th with a toss of 94’5. Other finishes were: Bair sixth in the 400 and Ethan Crowell tenth in the 800. Alliance had one qualifier on the girl’s side. 8th grader Nyah Ramirez was seventh in the 200 with a personal best time of 29.04.
