A very successful track season came to an end for the Lady Crusaders of St. Agnes on Saturday with three athletes competing at the state meet in Gothenburg. All three came home with some hardware. 8th grade Alexis Shelmadine concluded their Academy career by participating in 4 events. Her best finish was a personal best in the pole vault where she ended third with a leap of 10’0. Shelmadine was ninth in 400, fifth in the 200 hurdles, and ninth in the triple jump. Fellow 8th grader Aubrey Dudden cleared 5’0 in the high jump and finished fifth. Seventh grader Penn Vergil also had a busy day. Vergil qualified in four events and her best finish came in the triple jump where she took fourth. Vergil was 15th in the long jump, fifth in the 800, and 11th in the high jump. Scottsbluff won the boy’s team race while finishing first on the girl’s side was West Holt. The Academy ended 6th with 23 points.
