On Monday, the Alliance Senior Spartan club played the Peltz Co Junior squad in a five inning affair. Four runs in the final at bat powered the Seniors past the Juniors 9 to 1. Innings #3 and 5 were big for the Seniors as the Peltz Co scored three times in the third and added 4 more in the fifth. On the bump for the Juniors was starter Miguel Galvan and reliever Israel Garcia. Pitching for the Seniors were the starter, Kegan Rodriguez, and out of the pen, Teagan O’Gorman.
Rodriguez had a 1-2-3 top of the first while the Seniors scored once in the bottom of the frame. Knocks by O’Gorman and Tony Escamilla made it a 1 to 0 battle. A double play turned by the Juniors ended the inning. Two K’s by Rodriguez in the second kept the Juniors off the scoreboard. Inning 2 had the Peltz Seniors increased their margin. Nason Thompson reached after being hit by a pitch and would score the game’s second tally following an RBI hit by Fletcher Moseman . Another twin killing by the Juniors kept the score at 2 to 0.
In the top of the third, the Juniors scored once after a walk to Logan Freiberger and an RBI groundout by Garcia. The Peltz Co Senior respondent with 3 runs in the home half. Rodriguez tripled and then scored on a passed ball that made it 3 to1. O’Gorman then walk and advanced after a ball hit by Tony Escamilla was misplayed.
The score then went to 5 to 1 after a 2 run hit by Thompson.
Both teams failed to score in the fourth. Galvan had a knock for the Juniors but was stranded on the bases. Rodriguez had three strike outs in the inning. In the top of the fifth, the Juniors again were denied any scores. The Seniors then finished the game with four runs in their last at bat. The Spartans loaded the bases after a walk to Escamilla, a Braeden Clarke hit, and a Thompson free pass. Creighton Fritzler would then clean the bags with a triple that scored 3. Run #9 ended the game when Carson Stull singled that scored Fritzler. Final Seniors 9 Juniors 1
