Three runs in the top of the third helped the Peltz Co Blue Sox gain a tie with the Alliance Aces in baseball action on Thursday. Down to 7 to 4 in their last at bat, the Blue Sox tallied three runs then held the Aces in the bottom of the frame to get the 7 to 7 tie. The Peltz Co won the first game of the doubleheader 14 to 5. Getting hits for the Sox were Marshall Moseman, Bodee Barber, and Canton Devlin. Moseman had a pair of hits to led the offense. The Aces concluded with 3 three knocks. They came from Lincoln Foster, Iric Johnson, and Isaiah Gonzalez. Pitching for the Sox were Von Krejci and Moseman. Foster and Joseph Vela threw for the Aces.
The Sox hit first and scored 3 times. Hits from Barber and Moseman gave the Sox the early momentum. An error by the Aces plus a passed ball helped the Peltz Co go up 3 to 0. The Aces failed to score in the bottom of the frame. Using a walk and a passed ball, the Blue Sox scored once in the top of inning to increase their lead to 4 to 0. The Aces put together quite an inning in the home half of the second. Using a couple of walks, a passed ball, and an error by the Sox, the Aces closed to within one at 4 to 3. A hit by Johnson then helped the Aces take the lead at 7 to 4 after 2 innings of action.
Knocks by Moseman and Devlin in the top of the third made for some real drama. In all, the Sox plated 3 runs to knot the contest at 7. In the their last attempt, the Aces got hits from Foster and Gonzalez to keep the pressure on the Sox but both runners were left on the sacks.
