Gillette Gets Past Blue Sox

Alliance took to the field on Saturday in a ball game in Gering against Gillette. A hot beginning by the Bulldogs powered Gillette past the Sox 16 to 4. Alliance fell behind 9 to 0 after the top of the opener and was not able to recover. Zeke Dean was the Sox starter and was relieved by Slade Harris. The Peltz Co ended the game with 4 hits.

Both clubs got in the scorebook in the first. Gillette came out super aggressive and plated 9 to take the early advantage. Alliance put a three spot on the board in the home half. Marshall Moseman was hit by a pitch and scored the Sox’s first tally on an RBI groundout by Canton Devlin. A two run knock by Alliance’s Parks Sylvester then made it 9 to 3 after one frame of action. The Bulldogs continued their fine hitting in the top of the second with 4 runs while the Blue Sox went scoreless. Alliance did get a second frame knock by Von Krejci but no scores. Heading to inning #3, Gillette was up 13 to 3.

Three more tallies by the Bulldogs put the Peltz Co deficit at 13. Alliance scored once in their last at bat. Doubles by Moseman and Dean ended the Sox scoring. Final
