Westco’s Bombsquad held Alliance to just 2 hits in their matchup on Saturday. Scottsbluff got the victory 8 to 1 over Alliance. Ridge Toedtli started for the Spuds and went two frames. He was relieved by Luke Clarke. Four tallies in the last of the fourth put the game away for the Bombsquad.
Four early walks by the Spuds gave Alliance the lead. Jack Freiberger’s walk plated the first score for Alliance. Toedtli threw a scoreless final in the bottom of the inning. In the second, the Spuds got a single from Jon Luke but no scores. Westco took the lead in the home half with 2 tallies. Heading to frame three, the Spuds were down 2 to 1.
Westco made the plays in the third. The Bombsquad held Alliance scoreless while adding to their advantage with 2 more runs. Freiberger would single in the top of the fourth.
