Game 2 on Saturday had the Alliance Aces taking on the WYCO Hawks. Two scores in the top of the fourth held up as the Aces got the win 6 to 5. Iric Johnson was the starting pitcher and went four frames. Also hurling was King Lopez. Alliance ended the contest with four hits.
Johnson walked and scored the game’s first tally in the top of the first. An RBI groundout by Braven Gange made it 1 to 0. WYCO went down quickly in the bottom of the frame as Johnson had a strikeout. Both squads put 2 in the column in inning 2. A single by Landon Gentleman started the scoring. He would later score on a passed ball. Alliance’s third run came from Hudson Brownlow after a Hawk error. In the last of the second, WYCO plated 2 to get within one. Alliance led 3 to 2 after two frames of play.
Inning #3 saw the Aces go up by 2. Jaxtyn Dutton drew a walk and cross the plate following an RBI double Julian Requejo. The Hawks came back with a 3 spot in the bottom of the third to surge ahead 5 to 4. Alliance responded with 2 scores in the top of the fourth. Johnson was hit by a pitch to began their comeback. RBI knocks by Lopez and Joseph Vela ensued as the Aces went up 6 to 5. WYCO went scoreless in the home half. In the fifth, the Aces went down quietly while 2 Ks by Lopez in the bottom of the frame ended the Alliance victory 6 to 5.
