Game #2 of DH Goes to Kimball

A seven run first wasn’t enough for the Alliance Spartans in game 2 of a doubleheader versus Kimball. In action of Thursday, the Peltz Co dropped a 12 to 11 decision. Alliance won the opener but fell short in game 2. Three Prep pitchers tossed in the 4 frame affair. Tee Johnson started and was relieved by Silas Lilley-Stone and Esai Trejo. The Spartans ended the game with six knocks and were led by Eli Hamburger who had 2. The game was played in Alliance.

Both teams had success in the first. Kimball scored 4 to gain the early margin. Alliance came back with a 7 spot in the bottom of the frame. Hits by Hamburger and Cooper Gallas led the comeback. A couple of wild pitches and errors by the guests tied the game at 4. A steal of home by Spartan Quinn Ferguson and a passed ball then gave the Peltz Co a 2 run lead. The inning came a closure with an RBI groundout by Navi Singh. After one, the Preps were up by three.

Four more tallies in the top of the second gave the visitors a brief lead. Alliance retook the lead in the home half with 2 scores. An RBI hit by AJ Garcia knotted the game at 8 while Ferguson added an RBI groundout that gave the Peltz Co a one run cushion. Inning 3 saw the guests again score four. Down 12 to 9 in the bottom of the third, the Spartans plated 2. Knocks by Lilley-Stone and Hamburger made it 12 to 11. Three strikeouts by Trejo in the top of the fourth gave the Preps a chance. Trejo singled in Alliance’s last at bat didn’t score.
