Game 2 of Friday featured a contest between the Alliance Seniors and Elkhorn. ETC used solid starting pitching to defeat the Spartans 5 to 1. Alliance was held to just 2 hits on the evening. The Knights used 17 strikeouts in posting the victory. Pitcher Tony Escamilla started for the Peltz Co and was relieved by Lexton Salcido and EJ Garcia. The game was played in Elkhorn.
Alliance went to bat first and failed to get in the scorebook. Using a walk and a wild pitch, the hosts took a 1 to 0 lead. Innings two and three were both scoreless for the 2 squads. Heading to the top of the fourth, the Spartans were down 1.
Hits by Kegan Rodriguez and Kobe Strom in inning #4 tied the contest at 1. Elkhorn came back with 2 to retake the lead in the home half. The Peltz Co defense would spin a double play to limit the damage. The Knights continued their fine play in the fifth. ETC held the Seniors scoreless while adding another tally to go up 4 to 1. In the sixth, the Spartans failed to score. Another run by the hosts put the Alliance deficit at 4. The contest closed with another scoreless frame by the Peltz Co.
