District 47 Legislative Update

As Independence Day approaches, I want to wish you and your family a safe, meaningful, and memorable Fourth of July. This holiday offers an opportunity to gather with loved ones, enjoy the traditions that unite our communities, and celebrate the enduring story of our nation.

This year marks the 250th anniversary of the United States. Across Nebraska and the nation, communities are observing the Semiquincentennial on July 4, 2026, in recognition of the adoption of the Declaration of Independence. This historic milestone invites us to honor the courage of our founders, celebrate the blessings of liberty, and reaffirm our commitment to the principles that have shaped our nation for two and a half centuries. As we commemorate this landmark anniversary, we are reminded of our responsibility to preserve these freedoms and leave a stronger legacy for future generations.

Two hundred fifty years ago, a bold generation chose liberty over tyranny and self-government over oppression. Their conviction that freedom was worth defending laid the foundation for the nation we know today, and their vision continues to inspire Americans across every generation.

Our nation’s journey has been marked by both triumph and challenge. Through each chapter, Americans have demonstrated resilience, courage, and an unwavering belief in the promise of liberty. Here in Nebraska, we see those same values reflected in our strong communities, our work ethic, and our willingness to serve and support one another.

As we celebrate this historic Fourth of July, may we remember those who secured our independence, honor those who continue to defend our freedoms, and look forward with hope and confidence. Together, let us continue building a future worthy of the sacrifices and vision of those who came before us.

Kendra and I wish you a happy, safe, and blessed Independence Day. May God continue to bless Nebraska and the United States of America.
