Juniors Open Tournament with 14 to 5 Win

Sidney hosted a tourney over the weekend. Alliance began play with a 14 to 5 over the hosts on Saturday. Starter Carson Stull pitched into the fourth inning and got the victory. Reliever Kyler Hamel recorded the final out. At the plate, the Peltz Co finish with 8 hits and were led by Miguel Galvan who closed with two knocks. The contest ended in the fourth inning with a Galvan double.

In the opener it was Sidney who drew blood first with 3 tallies. In the bottom of the frame, the Spartans tied the battle. An rbi hit by Galvan began the comeback. Logan Freiberger followed with a hit and later knotted the game, scoring on a wild pitch. Stull had a scoreless frame in the top of the second and recorded a strikeout. Alliance surged ahead for good in the home half with 4 runs. The Juniors loaded the sacks on a Jackson Devlin double and Israel Garcia and Teagen O’Gorman reaching after being hit by pitches. A two run error by Sidney and a wild pitch made it 6 to 3. Scoring ended with an RBI hit by Jackson Shelmadine. With 2 frames in the book, the Peltz Co was ahead

7 to 3.

Inning 3 had Sidney closed to within three with one tally. Alliance increased its advantage in the bottom of the inning with 2 more scores. Knocks by Israel Garcia and O’Gorman along with another wild pitch made it 9 to 4. In the fourth, the hosts plated one to slice their deficit to 4. A five spot by the Spartans in the bottom of the fourth then ended the affair. Shelmadine walked and scored on a wild pitch to began the scoring. Hits ensued by Jayden Garcia and Fletcher Moseman along with a passed ball made it 12 to 5. The Peltz Co then loaded the bags on walks to Devlin and O’Gorman along with Israel Garcia reaching after getting hit by a pitch. Galvan then doubled to finish off the scoring.
