Moseman Closes Door on Fort Morgan

Opening round of the Clair Conley on Thursday had a matchup between Alliance and Fort Morgan. Spartan pitcher Fletcher Moseman tossed a complete game in an Alliance win 5 to 3. Moseman hurled all 7 frames and had 3 strikeouts. The Juniors extended their win streak to eight with the victory. Carson Stull and Moseman led the Peltz Co offense with two hit each. Alliance ended the contest with 5 hits total. The battle was played in Alliance.

Fort Morgan went the plate first and failed to score. The Spartans also went down scoreless in the frame. Moseman kept the Wranglers off the board again in the second while the Peltz Co scored twice in the home half. Casyn Rodriguez reached on an error and move to third after a double by Stull . An RBI single by Moseman ensued as the Juniors took the lead. The scoring came to an ended with another Alliance tally when a Jackson Devlin swing was misplayed by the guests. Heading to the third, the Spartans were up 2.

Frame three had the visitors take the lead with 3 scores while the Juniors failed to score. In the fourth, the Spartans retook the advantage. The Wranglers were turned away. On offense, the Juniors plated 2. A Rodriguez double was followed by an RBI hit by Stull that knotted the game at 3. Alliance’s final score came when Devlin’s hit again was misplayed by the Wranglers. Inning #5 was highlighted by Spartan catcher Tanner Salcido threw out a Fort Morgan runner on the base paths trying to steal. The Peltz Co was denied any scores in the last of the fifth. Moseman had 1-2-3 inning in the sixth while the Juniors added to their cushion. Jackson Shelmadine walked and moved into scoring position after a hit by Moseman. A steal of home then resulted in Alliance’s fifth tally. The Wranglers went down silently in their last attempt in the seventh.
