Spuds Make Quick Work of Dawgs

Baseball action Friday in Scottsbluff had another contest featuring the Legacy Wild Dawgs and the Spuds from Alliance. And just like the other matchups, it was the Spuds posting the victory. Alliance defeated Gering 9 to 2 in a one inning affair. Both sides hit once with the Spuds ending with 6 hits. Jon Luke threw for the Spuds and had one K.

Legacy hit first and scored 2 runs. The Wild Dawgs used an error by the Spuds, a walk, and two wild pitches to surge ahead. In the bottom of the inning, Alliance sent all 11 batters to the dish. A leadoff double by shortstop Tyce Johnson set the

stage for a big inning. Next up was second baseman Grady Mracek whose single make it 2 to 1. After centerfielder Luke Clarke reached on an error, Alliance took the lead after an rbi triple by third baseman Jack Freiberger. Alliance’s lead then went to 2 after an rbi double by first baseman Leo Hager.

The Spud’s fifth tally came after the Dawgs misplayed a hit by left fielder Ridge Toedtli. Both runners then scored following a 2 run scoring hit by DH Jensen Freiberger. Alliance’s 8th run came after a passed ball. The game closed with a hit by right fielder Jack Sautter. Final Alliance 9 Legacy 2
