NOCO Says NO NO to Spuds

Game two on Saturday had the Alliance Spuds taking on NOCO. Solid pitching by NOCO powered the Wolves past Alliance 10 to 1. The Spuds were held to just 2 hits for the contest. Taking to the rubber for Alliance was starter Jack Freiberger and relief hurler Jensen Freiberger.

Five early tallies in the top of the first put the Spuds in a deep hole. Luke Clarke singled in the bottom of the opener but was left on the bases. Both teams scored once in the second. Down 6 to 0, the Spuds scored once on a hit by Leo Hager and a passed ball. Heading to the third, NOCO was up 6 to 1.

Alliance’s deficit went to six in the third as the Wolves scored one more. Meanwhile, the Spuds were cold in the home half and the contest went to the fourth with Alliance down 7 to 1. Both squads went scoreless in inning #4 with Jensen Freiberger recording a strikeout.

Three more runs in the Wolves’ last at bat put the game away.
