Spartan Jackson Devlin had quite the night Monday in Alliance’s 13 to 1 victory over Ogallala. Devlin pitched a complete game plus lead the offense with 3 hits. Alliance had 12 hits in the matchup which was played in Alliance. The Juniors put the game away with 6 runs in their final at bat. Devlin finished with four strikeouts and allowed just 3 hits.
A twin killing by the Peltz Co in the top of the first kept the Advisors off the board. An RBI hit by Fletcher Moseman in the home half gave the Spartans an early one run advantage. Ogallala tied the contest in the top of the second with one tally. Alliance came back with three in their second attempt. Walks by Jayden Garcia and Logan Freiberger set the stage for Devlin who singled. Two passed ball along with a knock by Casyn Rodriguez ended the inning with the Peltz Co ahead 4 to 1.
Devlin recorded a K in the third as the guests went scoreless. Three more tallies by the Juniors put the Alliance lead at 6. A triple by Israel Garcia got the Spartans off to a strong beginning. Jayden Garcia followed with a single that made it 5 to 1. An RBI double by Freiberger and another good swing by Devlin finished off the scoring. After three innings of play, Alliance was up by 6.
Frame four saw 2 more Devlin strikeouts and no scores for Adams Insurance. The Peltz Co sealed the deal with 6 in the home half. Five Spartans had knocks in the frame.
