A nice combination of pitching and 10 hits at the plate led Alliance past Scottsbluff 13 to 1 on Wednesday. Starter Miguel Galvan and reliever Carson Stull held the Express to just 5 hits. The Juniors received two hit performances from Creighton Fritzler, Casyn Rodriguez, and Logan Freiberger in taking the win. Seven runs in the second inning paved the way for the Peltz Co. The affair was played in Alliance.
Alliance seized control early on with Galvan tossing a 1-2-3 frame in the top of the first and the Spartans scoring three. An early tally by Braeden Clarke was followed by hits by Fritzler and Tanner Salcido and a steal of home. The Junior’s last run came on an RBI knock by Rodriguez. After one, Alliance was ahead 3 to 0.
Westco was turned away in the second after Salcido gunned down an Express runner from his catcher’s position trying to steal. On offense, the Peltz Co had quite the frame. After Fletcher Moseman reached on an error, the Spartans got knocks from Freiberger, Clarke, and Fritzler to go up 4 to 0. Four more miscues by the visitors set upmore tallies by the Juniors. A double by Israel Garcia plated 2 while the scoring concluded with an RBI swing by Moseman. Heading to the third, Alliance was up 10 to 0.
Frame #3 was another strong one for the hosts. Westco failed to score and Alliance increased its advantage with three more runs. Tripling was Fritzler that scored Clarke. Next up was a sac fly by Salcido. Up 12, the runs ended after hits by Rodriguez and Moseman. Two Ks by Stull in the top of the fourth was the highlight for the Juniors while the Express pushed one across. Alliance went scoreless in the home half.
