Home Run by Nemnich Leads Alliance to 10 to 5 Victory

Carver Nemnich homered and the Spartans got 6 plus innings from starter Braeden Clarke in a 10 to 5 win over Ogallala on Tuesday. It was the Seniors 30th W for the year. Their record now stands at 30 and 11. Alliance’s big frame was the third as the Peltz Co scored 6. Nemnich then homered in the fourth to give the Spartans a comfortable lead. Clarke had 7Ks in his outing. Nason Thompson recorded the final 2 outs. The Seniors closed with 10 hits with Nemnich and Thompson as the leaders with 2 apiece.

An rbi groundout by Thompson in the first gave Alliance the early advantage. Adams Bank and Trust failed to score in the home half. Frame 2 was quiet for Alliance while Ogallala plated one to tie the contest. Clarke would strike out 3 in the frame. With 2 innings in the book, it was knotted at one all.

Six tallies in the top of frame #3 gave the Seniors a nice cushion. Walks to Kegan Rodriguez and Espen Lanik set up the big inning. Thompson then singled to break the tie. The Peltz Co then went by three after a 2 run double by Jaxson Esparza. A knock by Nemnich followed as the Spartans increased their advantage. The top of the inning closed with a hit by Tony Escamilla and Alliance up 7 to 1. OG went scoreless in the bottom of the third. In the fourth, Alliance surged ahead by 9. Hits by Lanik and Kobe Strom brought up Nemnich who homered to make it 10 to 1. Adams scored three in the last of the inning and the contest went to the fifth with the Spartans out in front by 6.

Action slowed in the last three frames. EJ Garcia singled for the Peltz Co in the top of the 5th but didn’t cross. Clarke put down Ogallala 1-2-3 in the home half. In the sixth, Thompson singled. He was left on the bases. Two more Clarke strikeouts highlighted the last of the sixth as OG failed to score. The 7th frame saw a hit by Spartan Mike Johnson and no scores for the Peltz Co. Adams Bank and Trust scored once in their last at bat but Thompson put down the rally. Final. Alliance 10
