Juniors Take Down Regulators Thanks to Big Performance by Rodriguez

Chadron hosted a wood bat tournament over the weekend. Alliance played Security First in the opening round and defeated the Regulators 14 to 2 on Saturday. Spartan Casyn Rodriguez led the Peltz Co with 3 hits and also tossed all three innings in getting the win. The Juniors had 10 hits for the contest. Alliance scored 8 times in the first frame and 6 more in the second in picking up the W.

Security First went to the plate first and were denied while the Alliance bats were strong in the home half. The Spartans loaded the bases with walks to Israel Garcia and Miguel Galvan along with a single by Teagan O’Gorman. Next up was Tanner Salcido whose hit was misplaced by the Regulators. Up by 1, Rodriguez then singled for the Peltz Co’s second tally. A three run double by Logan Freiberger ensued as the Spartans went up by 5. Another double, this one by Jayden Garcia, put the score at 6 to 0. Alliance’s final 2 runs came on a steal of home and hits from Israel Garcia and O’Gorman. Heading to the second, the Juniors were ahead

Rodriguez registered 2 Ks in the top of frame 2 as the Regulators went scoreless. The Peltz Co continued to swings hot bats in the bottom of the inning. Knocks by Rodriguez and Carson Stull began another scoring spree. An RBI groundout by Freiberger made it 9 to 0. Later in the inning with the bases full, Alliance got an RBI walk by O’Gorman for run # 10. Galvan was then hit by a pitch resulting in another tally. The scoring closed with rbi hits by Salcido and Rodriguez. Gordon would score twice in their last at bat to end the affair in the top of the third. Final. Spartans 14
