The Activities Hall of Fame is organized as a way of maintaining the rich heritage and tradition of the successful activity programs at Alliance High School. The Hall of Fame will serve as a means of recognizing, preserving, and honoring the athletes, performers, coaches, sponsors, directors, contributors and alumni who made significant contributions to activity programs. The Activities Hall of Fame will help maintain the spirit, pride, and sense of community, as well as serving as a historical account of the great activity traditions of Alliance High School.
The selection committee meets once a year to vote on new members. In order for nominee to be inducted, the nominee must receive at least a 75% majority vote from the selection committee members in attendance.
On September 10th the selection committee met and reviewed 20 outstanding applications. The list currently contains 11 state champions or 1st/2nd team all-state athletes. 8 different nominations received at least one vote from committee members. The new nominations this year made the process extremely difficult for the committee. Finally, three athletes and one coach were settled on to represent the Class of 2026.
The Hall of Fame is excited to announce two new categories for nomination. We now have a category for team and dynasty team nominations.
Class of 2026
Dale Hall (Coach)
Dale served Alliance Public Schools from 1992-2009. He was the head wrestling coach, middle school PE teacher, assistant middle school football and Federation wrestling. Dale was a prior 3 time NAIA All-American. He was selected to the Adams State Hall of Fame in 2007 and the Nebraska Scholastic Wrestling Coaches Hall of Fame in 2026.
Tom Wildy -Class of 1981 (Athlete)
Tom was a three-sport letterman in high school. He was All-Conference in football and was named Team Captain his senior year. In wrestling he was named the Most Outstanding Athlete in 1981. He was a two-time district wrestling champion. He finished 3rd at state in his junior season and won a State Championship his senior season.
Earl Galusha -Class of 1954 (Athlete)
Earl was the Class A Discus Champion in 1953 and finished runner-up his senior season. He was named All Big Ten in football. He also earned All State accolades from the Omaha World Herald and Lincoln Journal Star. He was named Honorable Mention All American. The Alliance Times Herald named him Athlete of the Year.
Scott Dobson -Class of 1991 (Athlete)
Scott participated in football, wrestling and baseball. In wrestling he finished 5th place at state his sophomore season, 2nd place his junior season and won the state championship at 130 pounds in Class A in 1991. He was named Outstanding wrestling athlete and Academic All-State. He was also a member of the National Honor Society.
Wrestling Team- 1984, 1985, 1986, 1987 (Dynasty)
The wrestling team had an incredible run between 1984-1987. In that four year span they finished 2nd as a team in Class B in 1984. They won State Championships in 1985 (Class B), 1986 (Class A) and 1987 (Class A).
The induction ceremony is scheduled for October 3rd at 3:00 in the PAC of Alliance High School. All members of the 84-87 wrestling teams and the individual selections are invited to attend Homecoming activities and the induction ceremony. Families are welcome.
