United Way Reaches 90 Percent of Its Goal

With a goal of $90,000 United Way of Western Nebraska serving Box Butte & Dawes Counties has passed the 90% point and is entering the final stretch of its annual fundraising campaign, and is asking for help to reach its goal. The annual campaign ends mid-February, just a short time away.
Throughout the pandemic, United Way has expanded its efforts in the community with a strong focus on serving families and youth particularly those that are food insecure. United Way relies on donations to provide grants to local nonprofit partners and continue community impact work.

United Way currently supports ten nonprofit agencies in Box Butte County and three nonprofit agencies in Dawes County and fills gaps through local community impact work, including coordinating and distributing the annual Thanksgiving and Christmas food baskets, Stuff the Bus school supply drive, Imagination Library and the Community Cares food distribution that is held the 1st and 3rd Fridays of the month in the St. John’s parking lot. The annual United Way funding process is currently open to nonprofits in the community with more information in the United Way website at www.uwwn.org. Funds granted to local nonprofits is based on the current United Way fundraising campaign.

Box 617 Alliance, NE 69301, through the local United Way website at uwwn.org or by contacting the United Way office at bbc@uwwn.org or by calling (308) 763-8031. 98% of funds raised in the campaign stay local, helping hundreds each year, most of whom are children.
