“Very proud of all the athletes that competed,” said Coach Mark Glesinger. “Our quest of winning our third straight girl’s title fell a short unfortunately. Morrill’s depth was too much to overcome as the Lions were able to score enough in the final events to win first. The boys had a nice day but Hemingford was too strong. The flu bug bit us enough and we had to scramble. A lot of younger athletes really stepped up which gives us some hope for the future!”

St. Agnes ended its season then on Saturday, participating in a meet in Scottsbluff. Again it was Sanders leading the way for the Lady Crusaders. The Alliance eighth grader won first in the 100, 200 hurdles, and long jump. Her time of 31.8 in the hurdles broke her old second record. Asher Saka won gold in the seventh grade boys 800, finishing with a time 2:38 results from Scottsbluff
