Cherylinn R. “Cheri” Colson, 60, died Sunday, September 5, 2021 at Box Butte General Hospital.
She was born March 27, 1961 on the Ellsworth Air Force Base near Box Elder, South Dakota to Robert L. and Joanne R. (Moore) Long.
Cherylinn was a wonderful daughter, wife, mother and grandmother. She married her best friend of 41 years, Bruce A. Colson on April 19, 1980 in Alliance. They have three children and eight grandchildren.
She loved country music, swimming and playing cards. She and Bruce also loved looking at the stars and enjoyed camping and fishing with their children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Bruce Colson of Alliance; her children, Bryan Colson of Mitchell (Cheryl Sinks of Bayard), Jody (Manwell) Cabarrus of Bayard and Andrea (Matthew) Lainson of Gering; her grandchildren, Katherine Colson, Kristina Colson, Cassidee Colson, Carlena Colson, William Cabarrus, Jeremiah Cabarrus, Conner Lainson and Liam Lainson. She is also survived by her brothers, Mike (Shelly) Long of Hemingford, Mark (Cheryl) Long of Alliance, Bob (Julie) Long of Alliance, Mac (Lisa) Long of Alliance and P.J. Long of Alliance; her sister, Mary (Paul) Browning of Grand Junction, CO; and many nieces, nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Marvin Long, and her niece, Jennifer Long.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 10, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the Bates-Gould Chapel. Pastor Gideon Achi will officiate. Burial will be in the Hemingford Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday, September 9, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
