For grades 3-6, the Youth Book Club will share “The Lightning Thief” by Rick Riordan, first in the Percy Jackson & the Olympians series.  Discussion time is Tuesday, Oct. 26 from 4:30 -5:30 p.m. in the Community Room. Copies of the book are available for checkout at the Circulation Desk with no fee, since this is a book kit from the Nebraska Library Commission.

For grades Kindergarten and up, you are invited to join in Halloween movie fun.  Movie Night at the Alliance Public Library will be Friday, Oct. 29 from 6-8 p.m. featuring “The Nightmare Before Christmas.” Then on Saturday, Oct. 30 from 3-5 p.m., the Movie Matinee will be a double feature of “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” and “The Dog Who Saved Christmas.” For both movies, dress in your Halloween outfit for a Costume Contest and refreshments will be provided by the Alliance Public Library Foundation!
