Big Second Inning Powers Sox Past Aces 10 to 5

Game one of a doubleheader between the Alliance Aces and the Peltz Co Blue Sox was a thriller. Even though, the Sox only went to the plate twice, they scored just enough to down the Aces 10 to 5 in a ball game on Wednesday. The Peltz Co failed to score in the first but pushed 10 runs across in the bottom of the second in getting the win. Big hits in the home half of the second frame by Marshall Moseman, Canton Devlin, Cameron Walker, and Kade Kelley helped the Sox rally from a 5 run deficit. On the mound for the Blue Sox was starter Eugenio Lopez and reliever Levi Escamilla. Sorry no last names were available for the Aces but pitching was Vincent who tossed both innings. At the plate, the Aces got hits from Iric, Andre, King, Ben, and Vincent.

An RBI hit by Andre in the top of the first gave the Aces the early lead. In the bottom of the inning, the Sox failed to score. Frame #2 had the Aces add to their lead with 4 tallies. Knocks by Ben and Vincent got the visiting team off to a strong start. Aces would then use 2 steals of home to go up 3 to 0. The scoring ended with a hit by Iric and another steal of home. Heading to the last of the second, the Blue Sox were down 5 to 0.

Bats came alive for the Peltz Co in the bottom of the inning. Early hits by Devlin and Walker made the score 5 to 3. An RBI hit by Kelley the pulled the Sox to within one. A couple of Ace’s wild pitches then made the score 6 to 5 in favor of the Sox. Grady Mulhurn then drew a bases loaded walk for another score. The frame came to a close with a run scoring hit by Moseman and another wild pitch by the Aces. Heading to the third, the Peltz Co was up 10 to 5. Despite a hit by King, the Blue Sox shut out the Aces in their last at bat and won the contest 10 to 5.
