The Box Butte County Assessor’s Office has announced that a residential property review and photography project will take place in the City of Alliance between August 2 and August 17, 2026.
The project is part of the Assessor’s ongoing effort to maintain accurate and up-to-date property records and to ensure fair and equitable assessments for taxpayers. The Box Butte County Assessor’s Office has contracted with MIPS, Inc. to conduct exterior reviews and take updated photographs of residential properties within the City of Alliance.
During the project, MIPS field staff will be taking exterior photos of homes and outbuildings and making observations from public rights-of-way around the property. This information will be used to update county assessment records and help ensure that property data accurately reflects existing improvements and conditions.
For public awareness, MIPS staff will:
Wear blue safety vests identifying them as appraisal personnel.
Carry mobile devices used for data collection.
Drive marked vehicles displaying “Appraisal Contractor.”
Take exterior photographs of homes and outbuildings.
Conduct observations from public rights-of-way around the property.
MIPS personnel are working under the direction of the Box Butte County Assessor’s Office and are trained appraisal professionals. They will not enter homes as part of this project and will not request access to the interior of a residence.
“The purpose of this review is to maintain accurate assessment records as required by Nebraska law and to promote uniformity and fairness in the assessment process,” said Box Butte County Assessor Michelle Robinson. “Updated property information helps ensure that assessments are based on current and accurate data.”
