Gold medal performances in the 400, mile, and two mile relays powered the Alliance boy’s track team to a second place finish Friday at Scottsbluff’s Twilight event. Scottsbluff won the boy’s team title with 170 with AHS second at 97 points. Gering ended third with 74.5. On the girl’s side, it was Gering first with 120 points with the Bluffs second with 87. Alliance had 33 points in the girl’s division which was good for sixth. Nine schools took part. Alliance won both the unified levels.
Taking the track first for the Dogs was the 2 mile relay consisting of: Asher Saka, William Zurn, Devin Graham, and Trevor Zurn, AHS won the event with an impressive time of 8:09. Later in the day, Alliance’s 400 relay were the gold medalists with a time of 44.9. Members: Trini Trejo, Eddie Red Nest, Tanner Salcido, and Jackson Devlin. The sweep ended with the Dogs winning the mile relay with a time of 3:30. The mile relay was made up of Jackson Shelmadine, Devlin, Graham, and Trevor Zurn. Top placers for the Lady Bulldogs were: Brooke Bailey third in the 400, Lexi Lopez third in the long jump, and the mile relay who also took third. Members: Bailey, Paz Cody, Lopez, and Kimber Freiberger.
Garnering first in the unified events for the Bulldogs were: Alexis Libsack in the 100 and shot, Jersey Morrison in the girl’s long jump, and Aiden Johnson in the boy’s long jump

For many of the Bulldogs, it will be a return trip to the Bluffs on Tuesday. The Bearcats will host the annual Best of the West meet. Friday, Alliance will host the Western Conference meet.
