Eight schools participated at the Western Nebraska Twilight Invite held in Scottsbluff on Friday. The Alliance Bulldog boy’s tallied 85 points which was good for third place overall. Scottsbluff won the boy’s division with126 points with Gering taking second with 91 points.
Gering won the girl’s team race with 124 points while Torrington took second with 119 points. The Lady Bulldogs ended seventh with 31 points. Both the boys and girls unified teams took part in the event.
Top scorers for the Alliance’s girls squad was Josie Sanders who finished third in both the 100 and 300 hurdles and the 400 relay who took second. Team members were: Sanders, Addison Weber, Lexi Lopez, and Kayel Lambert. Gold medals in the unified division went Sivia Acosta in the 100 and long jump and Sara Schnell in the shot put. Alliance took home second place finishes for the boys from: Trevor Zurn in the 400, Jonah Amill in the triple jump, Asher Saka in the two mile, and the 2 mile relay. It featured Zurn, Devin Graham, Ben Cassatt-Reina and Mario Rodriguez. The mixed 400 relay unified team also got second and had members: Sivia Acosta, Logan Vogel, Sara Schnell, and Noah Drew.

The Best of the West track meet will be held in Scottsbluff on Tuesday for Alliance’s top athletes while the Bulldogs will be back in Scottsbluff on Friday for the Western Conference meet.
