Combined One Hitter Completes Sweep of McCook Juniors

Using solid starting pitching and a big first inning, the Alliance Juniors took down McCook 7 to 0 on Saturday. Hurler Israel Garcia pitched the first frames, striking out 6 in getting the win. Jackson Devlin ended the contest with a scoreless fourth. On offense, the Peltz Co scored five times in the first in a ball game called after the top of the fourth. Alliance took all three matches with First Central Bank by a combined score of 37 to 2. All the affairs were played in Alliance.

Garcia started his super outing with a scoreless first while recording 2 ks. He then helped his cause with a hit in the bottom of the inning. Alliance then got a single by Miguel Galvan and a passed ball to go up 1 to 0. Spartan Tanner Salcido followed with the Junior’s third knock of the frame. Next up was Jackson Shelmadine whose hit made it 3 to 0. The scoring came to a conclusion with a two run hit by Jayden Garcia. After one inning of action, the Peltz Co was up 5 to 0.

Alliance flashed some leather in the top of the second. Catcher Devlin threw out a McCook runner trying to steal after a walk. Garcia had 2 strikeouts in the frame to keep First Central Bank off the scoreboard. Alliance extended their advantage on an RBI hit by Carson Stull. Down 6 to 0 in the top of the third, Garcia continued his solid pitching as McCook failed to score in their comeback attempt. The Juniors then added to their margin with a Devlin double and a sacrifice fly by Israel Garcia. The game came to a finish with the guests failing to score in their last at bat.
