Council Starts City Manager Search Again

The search is on to fill the position of Alliance City Manager, again.

After Alliance City Council Members interviewed a handful of candidates to fill the position, Mayor Mike Dafney announced they would start the search over.

“A couple weeks ago, we had managers we interviewed. Long story short, none of them worked out. Council’s decided to start over with the search,” said Dafney at last Tuesday’s Alliance City Council meeting.

Council directed staff to advertise for the position, but to not put a deadline to make the search more fluid. Dafney said not setting a deadline would allow the council members to review applications as they were received.

City Clerk Tarrah Johnson and Finance Director Randy Waggener will continue to serve as the interim city managers until the position is filled. They have served in that role since former City Manager Jeff Sprock resigned in September.
