Eighth Annual Panhandle Progress Show

On Saturday, June 26 thirty-six youth participated in the Panhandle Progress Show held at the Box Butte County Fairgrounds in Hemingford. The Champion Market Lamb and 3rd place Market Lamb were shown by Kate Pieper of Mitchell. Rasine Bolek or Alliance showed the Reserve Champion Market Lamb. The Junior Showmanship winner was Hudson Ebmeier, of Whitney, Reserve went to Braden Staudenmaier of Hemingford and 3rd was Makenzie Peitzmeier of Diller, NE. The Champion and Reserve Champion Goats were shown by Brooke & Miya Carey respectively of Atkinson NE. The 3rd place goat was shown by Ethan Bomberger of Pine Bluffs, WY. The Junior sheep showman winners were as follows, Champion Colton Bomberger of Pine Bluffs WY, Reserve Makenzie Peitzmeier of Diller, and 3rd Tiyn Lembke-Sterkel of Hay Springs. In the Intermediate division Miya Carey was the Champion Showman, Brooke Carey was awarded Reserve and Ethan Bomberger was 3rd place.

Roz Bolek

In the Senior division Roz Bolek was the Champion Showman, Allison Carpenter of Scottsbluff was awarded Reserve and Kort Bannan of Harrison took 3rd place. In the Breeding Beef area Jessica Whitebear of Bayard took Champion and Reserve with her Hereford heifers and Kendall Sellman of Chadron was awarded 3rd place with her cross-bred heifer. The last species to show was market beef. The Champion Market Beef was awarded to Wyatt Walker of Alliance. Hallie Cochran of Gering was awarded Reserve Champion and Cambree Cover of Mitchell picked up the 3rd place award. In Senior Showmanship Wyatt Walker received Champion, PJ Lynch of Gordon was awarded Reserve and Hallie Cochran was 3rd. Connor Cochran of Gering was awarded Champion Intermediate Beef Showman, Bailey Sellman of Crawford received Reserve and Jacey Cochran of Scottsbluff was 3rd. In the Junior division Cambree Cover was awarded Champion Junior Showman, Kendall Sellman received Reserve and Hudson Ebmeier was 3rd.
