Eternal Rewards

Years ago in the 1950’s in a small town in Wyoming, a merchant put a nativity scene in his display window for Christmas. The display contained an invitation to thank God for His gift and an invitation to attend a special church service. As a minister stood to admire the display, a bystander paused and said, “That’s why I hate the church. They are always trying to sneak into our holidays.” I wonder if he thought the same way about Easter. Should the church which God created and Christ died for, have predominance in the world and in our life? Should God have anything to say about conduct, whether public or private?

Proverbs 14:12, instructs us to be careful in directing our path of life: “There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death.” All of us have done something “our” way, even though instructions were different. We probably survived that. However, God has a way of life. The Bible is filled with the words instructing us to do what is right in the eyes of God. That applies to us. Not doing what is right in the eyes of God has dire consequences. We should have learned that lesson from our parents early in life. God also has a right way to live with blessings, peace and eternal rewards. His way is always better than our way without Him. I urge you to walk in peace and righteousness – beginning now!
