Saturday night’s late game featured the Alliance Junior team vs Chadron. The Spartans got a no hit performance by pitcher Miguel Galvan to down Post 12 eight to zero in a five inning contest. Galvan was dominant, striking 16 and walking just 2. On offense, the Peltz Co finished with 7 hits and were led by Teagan O’Gorman who had 3. Alliance broke open a tight game with 5 runs in the fourth inning.
Early action had the Juniors taking the lead. After 3 Galvan K’s in the top of the opening frame, the Peltz Co plated 2. A triple by O’Gorman and a single by Fletcher Moseman made it a 2 to 0 ball game. Innings 2 and 3 saw more Galvan strikeouts and no scores by either side. O’Gorman did have a hit for the Spartans in the bottom of the third.
Five tallies in the home half of the fourth put the game away for the Juniors. Knocks by Galvan, Jace Jensen, and Moseman gave the Peltz Co a nice lead. A few errors by PVC Post 12 and a couple of wild pitches made it a 7 to 0 contest headed to the fifth.
Galvan again struck out the side in the top of inning 5 while the affair closed with one more run by Alliance. Israel Garcia walked and advanced after another hit by O’Gorman. The contest ended of a miscue by the guests.
