Lady Bulldog Wrestlers Qualify Three for State

Gering High School hosted the Class A district 4 girl’s wrestling meet on Saturday. With 200 points, Kearney took first in the team race. Grand Island who scored 174 points was the runner up with York ending third with 137. The Alliance Lady Bulldogs scored 52 which was good for eleventh. Fourteen school participated in the event.

AHS qualified three of their five athletes for the state meet in Omaha. At 135, Aiva Raymer took third, going 4 and 1 on the day. Finishing fourth at 170 was Alliance’s Charlize Dorenbach who ended with a 3 and 2 record. Bulldog Surenity Lewis will also compete at state as the 190 pounder went 2 and 2 which good for fourth.

Teams taking part: Kearney, Grand Island, York, Gering, North Platte, Omaha North, Columbus, Scottsbluff, Blue River, Hastings, Alliance, Seward, McCook, and Northwest.

The Nebraska State Girl’s Wrestling meet will be in Omaha on Tuesday and Wednesday February 17 and 18.
