Joseph Sevrin Nelson, 90, passed away on June 10, 2026 at the Chadron Community Hospital.
He was born on February 29, 1936 in Alliance to Sevrin and Laurine (Wismiller) Nelson. After serving 2 years in the U.S. Marine Corp he was honorably discharged in May 1957.
On December 27, 1958 he was united in marriage to Doris Margaret Peterson.
He is survived his daughter and her husband, Deb and Tom Savage and grandson, Matt of Denton, NE, his son, Jody Nelson and husband, Kyle Wright of Holiday Island, AR, his son and his wife, Dan and Jodi and grandsons, Janssen and Aden of Lincoln.
Graveside service will be Wednesday, July 22 at 10:00 a.m. at Calvary Cemetery. Online condolences may be left at www.batesgould.com with Bates-Gould Funeral in charge of arrangements.
