Patricia L. Mink Obituary

Patricia L. Mink passed away at the Box Butte General Hospital on Sunday, November 20th, 2022.

Patricia was born June 9th, 1933 in College Springs, Iowa to Herbert and Bertha (Ripley) Lymer and lived in that area until she was 16 years old. The family then moved to Missouri in 1949 and began attending the Fillmore Church of God. It was here she met her future husband, Don Mink at their church youth group. The Lymer and the Mink families became good friends.

Pat graduated from Guilford, MO high school in 1951. Upon graduation, she moved to Maryville, MO and began working at the hospital and worked there for two years before returning to her family home to help her parents with the family farm.

In 1952, her future husband, Don asked her on their first date. He took her to a ball game and then to the Hornsbury Cafe where for $1, they had two burgers, 2 cokes and had 3 nickels left

for the Nickelodeon.

Patricia married Don on August 15th, 1954 and they took up residence in Fillmore, MO. There they lived, worked and started their family until in 1959, Don felt called to ministry. They moved to Houston, TX so that Don could attend Gulf Coast Bible College. While there, Pat babysat the children of other students.

Upon graduation in 1964, the family moved to Thayer, MO to pastor a congregation. They served there until the end of 1970. They headed west with a move to Alliance, NE where they began and now continue to serve the Indian Mission Church of God. Pat served to the end of her life.

She is survived by husband, Don, children, Butch and Linda Abold, Charles and Debra Underhill, John and Mel Strasburger, and Nathan and Sara Mink, numerous grand kids and

great grand kids. She is also survived by siblings- Francis Troth, Cheryl Christian, Judy Davison and George Lymer. She also had countless nieces and nephews that she prayed for

and in-laws who loved her as their own.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Bertha Lymer, parent in-laws, Ewing & Alma Mink, sisters – Shirley Wolf, Dorothy Hughes, and other brothers in-law and sisters-law.

The service for Patricia will be Friday, November 25th at 3 p.m. at the Eagles Club with a meal to follow. She will be buried at a later date in Missouri. A visitation will be Tuesday, November 22 from 4-6 p.m. at the Bates-Gould Funeral Home.
