A busy 2 days came to an end on Sunday for the Alliance Juniors with a contest against Bridgeport. Sidney hosted the games. With a 6 to 1 victory over BP, the Peltz Co took home the championship. Alliance finished the tourney with a 4 and 0 record. Pitcher Kyler Hamel tossed all 7 frames and recorded 7 strikeouts. At the dish, the Spartans had 9 hits . Junior Israel Garcia keyed the offense with a perfect 4 for 4 performance. Up by just 2 in their at bat, the Peltz Co plated 3 runs in getting the victory.
Innings one and two were very similar. Alliance turned double plays in both frames to keep Post 29 off the board. The Peltz Co scored once in both frames. Hits by Garcia and Casyn Rodriguez helped the Juniors take the early lead. In the second, the Peltz Co got run #2 thanks to knocks from Jackson Shelmadine, Jackson Devlin, and Garcia. In the top of the third, both teams failed to score. Hamel had 2 strikeouts in the top and the contest went to the fourth with the Spartans ahead 2 to 0.
Bridgeport again went down quietly in the top of the fourth while the Juniors added to their advantage. Garcia doubled and later scored on a wild pitch. No runs were plated in the fifth. The Bombers got in the scorebook in the 6th. Post 29 used a walk and a hit to close to within 2. Alliance would throw a runner out at the plate to maintain their margin. In the home half, the Peltz increased its lead with 3 scores. Knocks by Garcia, Jace Jensen, and Fletcher Moseman keyed the scoring. Hamel would then strikeout the side in the top of the seventh.
