The tennis courts near Alliance High School, located near the intersection of 16th Street and Box Butte Avenue, are getting a facelift as crews work to resurface them to allow for improved playing conditions. Shana Brown, Cultural and Leisure Services Director, explained that the court has been stripped down to allow for the resurfacing project to continue.
“They did some excavation around the outside edges, so those base walls will wrap that existing court system,” said Brown. “Then, they will install a vapor barrier and pour a hard-surface concrete over top of that.”
Brown said she expects the project to be completed by summer, though the timeline could be delayed by the weather.
