Members of St. John’s Lutheran Church and volunteers from the community paint the church at Dobby’s Frontier Town as part of the nationwide Evangelical Lutheran Church in America’s God’s Work Our Hands Sunday. Lunch was provided by Kevin and Cynthia Horn.
The church was built in 1912 for the German Evangelical Lutheran Church at 7th St. and Yellowstone Ave. In 1952, when Immanuel Lutheran built their current church on Box Butte Ave., the old building became the Women’s Club until 1972, when it became the welfare office. In the late 90’s Dobby bought it for use as a trading post. Today, it remains as a church.
