Winning Ways Continue for AMS Seventh Grade Boy’s Team with First Place Showing at Gering

A magical season continued for the Alliance Middle School boy’s 7th grade track team on Saturday in their meet at Gering. AMS won the team title with 133 points, with Gering taking second with 111. AMS also had a solid day in the 8th grade boys division, taking second with 109.5 points. Scottsbluff

was first with 143 points.

In the combined race AMS was first with a combined score of 242.5 points with Scottsbluff second with 192 points. Gering won the 7th grade girls team title with 146 points, with Sidney second with 124. The Lady Bulldogs were fifth with 37 points. Scottsbluff won the eighth girl’s team race with 108 points while Chadron took second with 98 points. AMS scored 55 points in the 8th grade level which was good for sixth.

First place performance for the girls came from seventh grader Alexis Latka who won the 100 hurdles and 8th grader Regan Cornish with the shot. AMS won the girls seventh grade 400 relay. Seven gold medal winners came from the boy’s action for AMS. They were in the seventh grade division: Eddie Red Nest in the 100 Casyn Nelson in the mile, Abel Moreno in both the 100 and 200 hurdles, and Kyler Hamel in the triple jump. Finishing first in the 8th grade side were Preston Flores in the 100 hurdles and Demitrii Brooks Vargas in the discus.
