Scores in every inning plus a strong pitching performance by Spartan Kylar Adams carried the Alliance prep squad past Chadron 10 to 3 in a contest on Thursday. Adam hurled all four innings and struck out 10. The Peltz Co gained their sixth win of the season in a matchup played in Chadron. Alliance swept the twin bill, downing the hosts in game one 13 to 7. Roy Torres led the Spartan offense with 3 of Alliance’s 6 hits.
Both clubs had success in the opening frame. A 2 run double by Torres scored both Braden Myers and Drayden Konopnicki who both walked to start the inning. Chadron came back with 3 in the bottom of the first. Adams would record three strikeouts in the frame. Walks would plague the hosts in the second as Alliance plated three tallies. RBI walks by Myers and Ryan Walker gave the Spartans a one run advantage. Konopnicki ended the scoring with a run scoring single. Two more k’s by Adams kept Chadron off the board in the bottom of the second. After 2 innings of action, the Peltz Co had a 5 to 3 lead.
The Preps pulled away with 3 more runs in the third. Alliance received knocks from Torres and Myers to surge ahead 8 to 3. Adams struck out the side in the home half of the inning. Two more scores in the final inning put the contest away. The Spartans got hits from Torres and Konopnicki to take a 10 to 3 advantage.
