Airport:
FAA Inspection – submitted documents to clear the minor discrepancies. Requests for warranty work for markings have been submitted. Met with Airport Engineers for final inspection for all paint markings on seal coat of Runways project and the Rehabilitation of Apron and Taxiway projects. Working on the recommendations from the compliance letter, most of them were for wording changes to our certification manual. Training for self-inspections of the airfield with FBO and Fire Department Fuel Inspection Staff on fueling operations and inspections.
Participated in a phone conference call for the next steps on the Airport Layout Plan. A team was here working on an obstructions survey which required one of our staff the escort them on the airfield wherever they went. A flight survey will also be completed soon.
Annual fire extinguishers inspection was completed for FBO and all airport areas. Staff escorted Nebraska Department of Roads on the airfield as they were using survey points at the end of the Runway for a Highway Project.
Annual MALSR inspection was completed this week. Waiting for official documents from the FAA but nothing found of concern. Our contractors, NEO Electrical Solutions, was on site during this inspection and also conducted some repairs before the inspection began. MALSR is fully functional.
Maintenance staff did service on all mowers.
Mowing is in full swing with Runway 12/30, Runway 17/35, Terminal, T-hangars and Localizer areas all completed. Weedeat hangar area and airport road.
Dragging of prairie dog mounds on grazing land continues.

Library:
We are already ending week 4 of the Summer reading Program “Under the Alliance Night Sky”! There is one week left in the program, so make sure to get any completed reading logs submitted before noon on June 27th to be entered into the grand prize drawings!
We are happy to announce that Mason Trumble has accepted the position of the Technical Services Librarian. Mason has a strong tech background and is a recent graduate of Alliance High School. We look forward to seeing what Mason can bring to the position!
Adult Services Librarian Stephanie Hamilton is getting set for the upcoming bookclub meetings that are scheduled. Steph also has some great plans for the adult summer reading program – stay tuned for details!
Children’s Librarian Cynthia Horn’s Under the Alliance Night Sky” events included LEGO Club Stars, Recycled Crafts with Keep Alliance Beautiful, and checking in reading logs throughout the week. She received several entries for the Carhenge Replica and Book Spine Poetry Contests which are on display June 18-25. All ages can place one vote for their favorite in each contest. Cynthia also shared announcements on KCOW Radio. Her daily projects included backpack maintenance, cataloging new items, updating book displays, overdue notices, Social media updates, and preparations for the Humanities Nebraska program and the final week of Summer Reading.
Library Clerk Pam Becker has been busy maintaining summer reading records for Cynthia and processing all the great new summer beach reads that have been coming in!
Parks:
Moved tables, bleachers and trash cans for baseball tournaments, activities in the park and downtown activities
Prepared one funeral
Completed irrigation repairs as necessary
Got everything mowed and trimmed in town
Emptied all the garbage containers twice
Added bacteria to Laing lake to help with water quality
RSVP & Senior Center:
Continued providing dine-in and delivery meals for area seniors
Hosted social events including card parties, bingo, bunco and “Coffee and Treats” at the Senior Center
RSVP had fifteen volunteers in the community assisting with activities and events Museum:
Hosted several classes in the Museum that were conducted as part of the Carhenge Arts Festival
The Museum will host a Book Review with author Harlen Wheeller and his book “Twelve Hours that Changed the Sandhills Forever”. That event is this Sunday, June 22nd at 2:00pm.
