Darrel J. Annen passed away on Father’s Day, June 21, 2020 peacefully with his family by his side at the Hemingford Community Care Center. He was born on October 16,1936 to John and Gertie (Summers) Annen.
He joined the Army on February 7, 1956 and to his dismay, he was assigned to the “Grand Old Guard,” instead of heavy equipment. He was honorably discharged on February 6, 1958. He had belonged to the Hemingford Volunteer Fire Department in his younger years. He was also a board member of Farmer’s Co-op. He would lend a helping hand to anyone in need and was always willing to braid a rope that same night for someone that needed a pull.
